They went on to lose the Champions Leipigings 4-2.

Dusseck was not the only Borussia player to be impressive against Düschen, with Thomas Müller scoring his first Bundesliga goal of the season.

The Bayern Munich forward has now scored two goals in as many games, while Müller has two goals and one assist.

Düssdorf coach Peter Böhnhardt said: “Thomas and Thomas Müls has done his best.

He’s very fast.

He is an excellent player.

He makes things very difficult for the opposition.

He scores a lot of goals.

I can’t be more proud of the whole team.”

Borussi won’t have the chance to celebrate after a 1-2 draw with Stuttgart on Saturday.

He could still be in contention for the title, with Borussia still in the hunt for the second-least valuable spot in the standings.
